Hi,

A question about the fusion in size tall/big.

Looking at the size ranges for each size and the weight range is around 50lb’s on each size until you get to 4xl which blows the weight range out to 120lb’s!!!

What was the thinking here??

I am 6’4” and weigh 240lb’s which is right at the upper limit of a 2xl/3xl and apparently with the bullet skin being a bit tighter fit it may not work for me and could limit movement a little.

Why on earth have such a large size range on your biggest size suit. Sorry, call me harsh if you want, but if you are obese (350lb’s) then pay a premium for your suit!

I do not want a massive amount of spare inner bag material round my middle to have to cope with - surely sticking to the 50lb weight range again would be better!

Also is the bullet skin in 4 xl equally big around the middle or is there stretch built in??

Unfortunately because I’m in Australia we have zero opportunity to try one on - no one carries the fusion line here :(

Suggestions welcomed!

Hey BB1, the thinking here was inputed from testing done in the field to size ranges, as you are on the upper end of a 2XL/3XL on the size chart I would recommend a 4XL Bullet for you, as I do find they fit a little snugger then the Tech. Here is what we can do, if you find the 4XL has to much material on it for your comfort, we can pay to have it shipped back to change it out, if it doesn’t fit properly I can put a 2XL/3XL skin over a 4XL drycore to bring in the extra material, let me know what you think.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the offer of help which was VERY generous and really appreciated.

Unfortunately news like this really turns me off a company:

Learned today that Aqualung is now enforcing selling WHITES DRYSUITS at FULL MRP at it’s dealers. (no more allowed discounts, deals, etc).

They’ve also raised the prices 10%..... because they could.

This goes into affect today from what I understand.

This is no reflection on you as your help and advice has been awesome but I will not do business with companies that have such antiquated restrictive business practices.

This is what we were all afraid of when we heard that aqualung had bought you out!

Sad really…..........

Hi Doug,

I also have sizing question.
In my case, I’m right at upper limit of size 2XS/XS.
Here’s my size:
—-
Hight: 168cm
Weight: 57kg
Chest: 86cm
Waist: 73cm
Buttocks: 90cm
Crotch to Floor: 73cm
—-
Now, my question is, do I still have enough room for undergarments such as mk2 with 2XS/XS tech or bullet skin? I prefer streamlined fit as long as it does not restrict movement. I wish I can try it on but I’m in Japan and I don’t think anybody have them in stock…

Thank you in advance,
Tetsuro

Hello Tetsuro,
For your measurements I would recommend a size small/meduim suit, especially if you go with the Bullet as it is a more streamlined fit. the good thing about the Fusion sereies is they are very forgiving, any extra material there may be will be pulled in by the skin. i think a size 2XS/XS will be to tight for you with the undergarments. However another option we can do is go with a S/M dry core with an XS skin to make it even more streamlined. let me know what you think.
Thanks Doug.

Hi Doug,

Thank you for your advice.
So in case I decided to go for XS skin over S/M dry core option, I can just send the skin back to you guys for exchange?

Thanks,
Tetsuro

Yep if for some reason you do not like the fit and want to exchange the skin, we can do that no problem.
Thanks Doug.

i am one of those so called obese (350lb’s) people….once i saw this i had to respond….. as i am having a lot of trouble finding a dry suit!
i am 6ft tall 350lbs with a 56 inch chest 21 inch biceps 19 inch neck 44 inch waist and a 32 inch inseam….

now i’m not sure how you equate obesity with weight but that statement really upset me. as i am by no means obese and having been in the Navy for 8 years and been working out even harder since i got out 4 years ago (actually lost about 10 pounds since my navy days)

then comes the question of will the size 4xlplus even work for me?

Hello Micah,
to answer your questiona stock size 4xl suit would fit you, the biggest guy I have personally put into a suit was 6’7 370lbs he fit in a stock size 4XL Fusion Sport no problem, of course he had to trim down the neck seal and wrist seals. If possible I would recommend trying one on as they each fit a little different, you will find the Sport suit has more stretch then the Bullet suit due to material configurations. if you have any concerns please feel free to drop us a line anytime @ 866-652-8556.
Cheers Doug.
